Garnet was the traditional stone used in wedding rings. Latin in name, for the beautiful seed of the pomegranate, granatum. It was said to bring great luck to possess one but terrible luck to steal one.

Referred to in ancient texts such as the bible as a carbuncle. Which refers to any red stone but most commonly the red garnet.

It’s a powerful protection stone. Being attuned to the heart and root chakras, it enhances emotions and sexuality.

Most widely known for it’s bright and fiery red color, it comes in various hues and textures. Basic red garnet (listed below) is going to be the foundation of the garnet family. All variations of garnet carry the basic red garnet properties and then branch off with their own extra special flares of magic.
